Baronsmede Family Homes was set up in December 1985 in order to provide services for people with learning disabilities. We aim to provide a homely environment which allows individuals freedom of choice and control over their own lives, with support where appropriate.
Services are provided in consultation with the people living in the settings, and are designed to meet individual needs.
Residential Living: Baronsmede
Baronsmede was registered as a residential care home for people with learning disabilities in March 1986 and was the first service that was set up by Dee Tormey, the founder of the organisation.
Supported Living: Little Oaks
Little Oaks is the separate supported living service which was set up in 2019 at Baronsmede.
Supported Living: Magnolia Cottages
Flats 1 and 2 Magnolia Cottages have been purpose-built at our London Road site to provide supported living accommodation for two individuals.
Supported Living: The Old Haybarn
The Old Haybarn provides a homely environment which allows individuals freedom of choice and control over their own lives, with support where appropriate.
Day Services
At our Barn Centresite we run a full programme of day activities which are developed by involving individuals, their families and health professionals where appropriate.
